Comparison of the generated volume meshes by Netgen of the initial and the adapted discretization of a trench structure. The degenerated needle and wedge elements could be reduced considerably, while the percentage of the round elements has been more than doubled, from 30% to 71%. Aside from the significant mesh quality improvement, the number of mesh elements has been reduced drastically.
